Value of a 1941 garand

Hello ,
I've lurked here for a while but haven't posted. I would like to know if you guys can help with determining the value of my garand. I had to buy a replacement stock for it because the original stock had been heavily modified. I believe everything else is correct and original to the rifle.

Welcome to the site first off. I would put the value to the right person at between $1800.00 and $2300.00. The GHS stock can easily run $500.00 to $700.00 to replace. So maybe as much as $2700.00 + with the correct GHS stock. Very nice pre war M1. I have 327580 on GB right now for Buy It Now $2300.00 and that is with the GHS stock.

Nice rifle, what does the muzzle gauge as well as the TE? November 1941, draw number on the op rod and a picture would be nice. Bill, I believe the flush nut sights may be worth as much as GHS stock, if it's original.

I don't have the means to measure ME/TE all I can say is the bore appears new but I know that's of no help. If you click on the PIC, it has pictures of all the markings on the rifle.

That sounds like you've got yourself a nice rifle there. My wife got my Garand for me a few years ago for my birthday. It's not all matching but everything is in great condition. Though it was re-barreled in 1943 it
has a throat erosion of less than two and the serial number on the receiver is 207384. Nice lock bar sights too. It's the first and only Garand I've ever owned. I feel pretty lucky that it found it's way to me. Thanks for sharing!

An original flush nut and short pinion can go for as much as $700.00 +. Mine is 100% real and correct and I can't get the bidding over $1600.00! A pre war sold on GB a month ago less the GHS stock, correct barrel, with a lock bar and a modified op rod for $1900.00. I don't get it Right place, right time I guess.
