Just wanted to share. Here are the SN# dates. Receiver 436XXX = Jan 1942 Barrel marked 4-42. Bolt D28287-2SA = Early 1942 Trigger Housing D28290-12-SA = Nov 1942 through Sept 1944. Bolt D28287-2SA = Early 1942 Op Rod D35382 3 SA = Early 1942
That's what I know as of now. I found the rifle on the used gun rack at a local dealer. He had a TE gauge and it measured less than 2. The stock is new not original, I assume it's a Boyd's? but don't know. The rifle came with a CMPcertificate. Now the wood crate originally housed a Springfield INC D-Day commemorative Garand
that I eventually sold, but kept the crate for my 1942 Garand. I know people trash the new springfields, but Mine was a great shooter.
