    Enfield stock markings

A friend of mine showed me his No1MkIII today and I saw it has a lot of stamps on the stock. What do they mean?

Ahh, the infamous JJCO import stamp. From the buttsocket markings, a 1915(?) RSAF Enfield that apparently the Aussies got a hold of. The double D's are an Australianicon property mark. The 2 in between then would be 2nd Military District, the butt is off of an Australian Lithgow SMLE. Looks like a famous Jon Jovino 'bitser'. Jon Jovino was an importer of Australian rifles and parts, and would assemble whole rifles out of said parts. Looks like this is what your friend has.
