    My rescue/restoration job finished

Picked up this "sporterized" 935960 SA with a J5 bolt and well worn SA-05 barrel on Gunbroker for cheap. I bought a NOS High Standard 9-44 barrel from Constantine (hence the unmilled rear sight base). Chuckindenver did the repark, installed the barrel and finished the CMPicon stock and handguard.
    Should make a great shooter!

Don't know yet, just got it back from Chuck today. I have some Greek HXP I'll take to the range with it.

Was the rear sight base on the original barrel "open" on the bottom?

I don't think so, it was a typical 1918 vintage rear sight base.
