    M14 trainer?

A friend of mine wants to buy this rifle and neither he nor I have ever seen or heard of it before. Is it genuine? The one in the article is select fire and the one for sale isn't. Did H&R make a few of each? Thanks.

Never heard of it before . Could be real , though . They did have the M65 in WW2 and the MC1 in the '50s . This could have been thier proposed next step.

I know that H&R made at least one if not a few more to try and win a Military contract for .22 trainers, but I don't know if it(they?)were select fire only. The one for sale is a semi auto rifle.

TRW did build or convert a few of their rifles to 5.56mm in an effort to salvage something after the cancellation. These rifles used the 20 rd M16icon magazine with a magazine spacer and were select fire.
