    Thanks Mark, got a kick out of the "Singer", I'm still looking for one of those!!
    I also noticed the NCO in pic one with the bandaged right hand, must have happened when parrying the bayo in a previous practice, oops.

    The 1917 scabbard is correct for that 1905 bayonet. It was just mentioned in the edged weapons section.
    1913 dated 1905 Bayonet in 1917 scabbard

    The wounded hand happened to me once too. I was too slow, with too many fingers outstretched and not paying enough attention to the trainee. He reacted instantly and I had a small cut on an index finger. It happens.

    The pic illustrates what I was trying to get across to the other poster. Here's an example of the 1917 scabbard in use.
