    Lee Enfield Identification

    Gentleman (and perhaps ladies),
I am new to this forum, and come seeking your expertise on the Lee Enfield series of rifles. I have long admired the Lee Enfield Rifleicon, as I think it is one of the best looking rifles every made, as well as a strong performer. I am currently in talks to purchase my first Enfield, a No. 4 MK 1. I was wondering if you all could help me identify it (where it was made, what year, etc.). This is a picture of what is engraved above the trigger.

I did a little bit of research, but was stumped by what I found. Like I said however, I am new to Enfield collecting. Any advice you could give would be great. Thanks!

    Nate

It was produced at the Royal Ordnance Factory at Fazakerley just outside of Liverpool in 1942.

    Mid'ish '42, I'd guess. (April?)

Here's a December example. No time for pretty markings at Fazackerly during this time period!

And here's yet another. A few days older than yours.
