No. 1 Mk. III* extractor problem

    Hello,

I recently acquired a 1918 Lithgowicon No. 1 Mk. III*, I can post pictures of all of it at another time, but I noticed a problem with the extractor: I can move around the claw with ease, I showed it in the photos. The positions pictured are the extremes of movement, I can position it anywhere in between. What parts and/or work is required to rectify this?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Thanks for the quick reply! Sorry, I do not really know what I need to look for, how can I check for that?

There's no spring tension on the extractor. I can't see the spring in the picture. It's either broken or missing.

Spring is either broken, missing or very weak.

When you get it be careful putting it in, I've had them break just going back in place...
