300 Yard group shooting with time limit

I went to the range today to test 2 different loads for the Gibbs 03A4 and 2 different loads for the "T" Enfield. Gave myself a sighter to be sure I was on paper then 10 shots with 20 second limit for each. This is the time limit for the Vintage match. Since I was spotting myself I tried to hold the same to check group size. The black target is 18 inches which approximates the proper 300 yard target for the 8 ring, The orange paster is 3 inches square. The first target is a 155 grain Hornady FMJ in the Gibbs. The second is a 178 gr. Hornady AMax in the Gibbs. The 3rd is a 174 SMK in the Enfield and the 4th is a 180 grain spitzer in the Enfield. The x ring on the 300 yard target is 3 inches so if I can move the groups to center they could score well. Getting to the range was time well spent and seeing how well the rifles shot was a bonus. Next chance I get will be to move to 600 yards.

How is the fit and finish on the Gibbs rifle? Are you concerned that it is a converted drill rifle while shooting it?

I don't have concerns safety wise. The mag cutoff works well, the finish of the receiver is ok. It isn't a custom rifle. the barrel is new so no worry about chamber. Usual caution reloading. Have shot LC Match . I don't use the brass that must be reamed to reload. I reload Remington brass, LC Match brass and just got order of PRVI new brass to try. My problem is older eyes and 2.5x mag on scope. The wood is clean, the inletting of action is in excess, could be bedded but then wouldn't conform to Vintage Rules. The scope dials back to 0 so no problem there. I will try and dial to 1000 next time at range. i will need probably 40 clicks, 20 moa from 600 to get there. I like the rifle fun to shoot. I chronied my 150 FMJ load with 55 gr. H-4350 at 2805 and it was comfortable to shoot. Will look for 2700 approx with 168 I plan to load next. From reading the earlier posts the gear has been improved from first issues. I have to remember to shoot the Gibbs first then switch to 12x42 NXS or Valdada or eyes rebel. A 7/8 inch tube is very different than 35mm.
