Period photos showing M1A1 carbines---do you have any that you can post?

I am always on the look out for period photos of certain guns that I own, namely M1A1 carbines, Winchester M97 trench guns, and No.5 Lee Enfields.
Not that easy to find.
If anyone has M1A1 period photos to add that would be great.

Two M1A1 carbines seen in this photo.
The first fellow has the stock folded.
The third fellow has it over his shoulder, you can see the pistol grip quite clearly.

The caption for this photos is;

"Freezing march over miles of mountain roads takes a Canadian-U.S. battalion off to another succession of heights whose skilled defense by the Germans led to a long stalemate at Cassino."

M1A1 stock folded in this photo.



This does not show an M1A1 carbine, but it does show an ammunition bondolier worn by the fellow leaning against the wall. They look like they could be M1 magazines in the bondolier. It also shows a stock magazine pouch on the M1 carbine.

Doesn't that stock look dried out, and doesn't it look like the guy on the left is chewing tobacco?

Given the extreme weather conditions of Western Europe that year, its not surprising that the stock is dried out. Snow, wind, ice, trying to get warm near any fire then back into the weather... I doubt they were having debates of Tung Oil verse Raw linseed oil.... that is why some of the weapons we are now collecting are so beat up. Everyone wants to find the perfect condition Winchester garand from the war. Well, there ain't one - at least if it was in theater. I imagine that the Pacific theater was worse on weapons due to the humidity and the salt water environment.

Its amazing that the guys survived, let alone the weapons.
