I am unable to put the pics on here due to not having a transfer cable for my phone. But an old gunsmith friend of mine passed away a year or so ago and another close friend has purchased all his parts. Amongst his Enfield items we found a unit that is made of aluminum on the top and fiber of some type for the main body. It looks like something that would fit inside of an ammo pouch and hold 5 rounds. The center of the bottom fiber portion is cutout and appears to have had the function of allowing the stripper clip, and ammo, to be inserted into the guide on the rifle and then pushing the ammo into the magazine with the thumb. It would also retain the stripper clip in the unit.
The aluminum top portion has small ears bent inboard that I think would hold the ammo into the unit and prevent spilling the rounds onto the ground.
Poor description at best but we were curious about what it is.
As always - Thanks
Be well
