    Carbines on Iwo Jima

This is a sobering reminder of days past. It does shows some carbines in the landing crafts before hitting the beach and a few later. I don't see much color film from WW2. Thought it was interesting.

The F8F Bearcat didn't make it into combat during WWII. That was an F4U Coursair taking off from the carrier and a P-51 Mustang taking off from the airstrip. The aerial scenes showed TBM Avengers and Hell-Divers in action.

I think I saw some Parkerized carbines but most were blued. I'm sure we've all seen similar color film of guys coming ashore in the boats in the D-Day landing, where many of the carbines were obviously Parkerized. I've read some guys' posts saying there were no Parkerized carbines in WWII, but that was some time ago. I'm sure they know better by now.
