Austrian 308

I also found a case of what looks like Austrian manufactured 308, made in 1979. I haven't the foggiest notion of how long ago I bought it, probably 16-17 years ago. It's in a wooden crate. I don't want to open just yet ( if I do, I'll have to shoot some of it you know) So does anyone have any notion if it's good ( accuracy wise, Boxer vs. Berdan) Pretty sure given the date it's non-corrosive. Thanks!

If it's Hirtenberger, it's boxer primed, non-corrosive, and good quality.

Actually, it's fantastic ammo. The only thing bad about it I can say is that the flash holes are really small. A reamer takes care of that in just a second.

Hirtenberger is typically found in little cardboard boxes in a green plastic battle pack. The pack is rectangular with two finger loops on one end as a carrier.

Hirtenberger is not NATO standard (Austria is neutral, but uses 7.62x51 firearms), using 146gr bullets I think. Close but not made to standardized norms.
