    Anyone see Khaki?

I'm posting 2 pictures of the same box of C tip slings. This last box I opened has quite a color range.
I have a Carbine Club friend looking to trade a used QHMC flip sight for a Khaki Narrow keeper sling for a IP he has. Many of you would know him, or at the least have seen some of his carbines.
I don't have a single narrow keeper in a collection of 48 C- tip slings and at this point can't tell if any of these slings are Khaki. I don't need the flip site but would supply him a sling if I could tell if it's Khaki. All are starting to look just some ole tint of OD to me.
Good chance here for someone looking for a Q flip to step forward.

    Any look Khaki to you?

1st picture is with camera Flash on.
    2nd picture with no flash.

    Thx,

Too hard for me to tell color from those pictures. Also wear and age makes OD appear lighter. But bottom forth from the right looks to be marked.

Jim your right, I'd forgot I had that one. Thought it was in a seperate pouch with the few marked slings I own.
That's a SM Co 194 (4?) that I bought from Mike Luse aka Magnum Mike (ey?) from out in Minnesota or Wisconsin. He had run across a full box and sold them on Ebay, about the same time (on the ole CSPicon) that he had I think 2 crates of WWII carbine ammo. I miss him, he is a piano tuner by trade. He's currently hooked on the early S&W, Colt pocket revolvers and black rifles. Bought my favorite shooter from him a 4,7 QHMC.

    It looks like the following:

    Top box. Left to right

    Upper 1, 3, & 5

    Lower 6 & 8

    Bottom Box. Left to right

    Upper 5

    Lower 8

Some of them like top #1 in both boxes look like the temporary mid khaki/od due to the shortage of the dye.

Being as they are the same box with just different lighting it shows how hard it can be to judge from a picture.

    I'm seeing: top row, L to R, 1. Transitional 2., 3., 4. OD, 5. Khaki, 6., 7., 8. OD
    bottom row, L to R, 1., 2., 3., 4. OD, 5., 6. Khaki, 7., 8. OD

    Really hard to tell.

Charlie, I saw an SM Co. marked sling on an SG at a gun show last Saturday. The marking was very clear and the lettering was much larger than on yours - also I could tell that the one at the gun show was much shorter in overall length than mine. The marking on mine is the size of yours in the picture. I'm curious if the overall length (unsnapped) of yours is real close to 51 inches? - that's what mine measures, and it's the longest sling that I have. The owner of the SG with the questionable sling told me that the SM Co. slings "varied a lot." I pretty much agree with the other guys about which ones of yours appear to be closer to khaki in color. - Bob
