Needed - Windage adjustable rear sight for 2A (No.1 MK III)

If anyone knows where I might obtain one of the windage adjustable rear sights for the No 1 MK III please PM me or post a reply here.

My 2A groups very tight, but it shoots very far to the right. I have the front sight drifted as far left as possible without either removing the front sight protector (not possible) or filing the left side of the front sight platform down enough to allow further drifting to the left.

I know there are some windage adjustable No. 1 MK III rear sights out there that would fit as my 2A has the .303 calibrated rear sight (out to 2000 meters). The rifle shoots 4" low and 2.5" right at 100 yards with the sights as they are now. Being able to move the impact that 2.5" to the left would put this thing right on.

    Thanks for any help.

Ok, if you drifted your front sight left, that would only make your shots go more to the right. Try drifting it to the right and see if that fixes your problem.

Windage adjustable MkIII sights were NEVER fitted to the 2A or 2A1. Personally, I would not even try.

If you still want one, the only source I know of is the auction sites or gun shows. They are somewhat uncommon.

OOPS, my bad! I mis-read the book -- you move the front sight into the error, not away from it. It's the rear sight that goes in the direction you want to move the bullet strike.

Thanks for reminding me to read more carefully

Sure nice to have a couple of boards with people that know what they're doing to keep the rest of us on track.

I think I've had enough coffee now and I've got lots of room to correct that error. I'd even bet the sight picture will look a heck of a lot better with the front sight centered rather than all the way left!
