    I finally got one!

It has been years since I have seen an intact unmodified M1917 and I found one at a local pawn shop the other day. A Nov. 1918 manufacture Remington with the original sling, oiler, take down tool and a mirror shiny bore! I haven't shot it yet but I will soon, I have some old surplus 06 ammo that I need to burn up. I will give a range report when that is done. All I need to find now is a bayonet and oh yeah the rack number is still visable on the buttstock and is 58 I. Thought that was cool.

I hate trying to post pics on here, is it me or is it not very user friendly? Hey Chuck in Denver are you guy I traded the .577 Snider carbine to a couple years back? He was a Chuck in Denver. I will see what I can do for a pic.

The foretip only has a 4 stamped into it so I have not figured the stock yet. Have not had the rifle apart to look either. All the major parts are Remington so far and minor Eddystone parts. Yes, it is still blued and about 80 to 85%.

The Chuck in Denver that I traded with had a Howa 1500 in .338 Win Mag that he built in gunsmithing school down there. I had a very pristine .577 Snider carbine that I wanted to be a trapdoor Springfield in 45-70 but alas all the wishing never made that happen so we traded straight across.

Always had a soft spot for tiger stripe in any hardwood and this one is nice with only one minor gouge on the left side about 1/2 inch long and about a 1/16 deep.
