    1917 rebarreling

    I am new to site. I have a 1917 that has been sporterizied I am looking for some who can rebarreled the gun..Tried to head space but it closes on a no gauge, Way to easy, like its not chambered in 30-06???
    Looking for someone to who has exp, in rebarreling 1917 ,Can anyone tell me who to call.. thanks Craig hinshaw

    If it's a sportier, it might not be a .30-06. For example, MANY of these were converted to .300 Win Mag by Century.

    when checking headspace on a 17 or 14..
    remove the cocking assembly, remove the extractor, install the Gauge, even if it closes on the tool, but you can feel it resist..it passed...if it flops down easy, then try a field reject...if it fails that tool, then its time to replace.
