Doors Open: Small Arms, Long Branch (10:00-16:00 Saturday, September 28th, 2013) .... (click here)
During World War II, thousands of Canadians worked hard to defeat the Axis powers.
While the men did the fighting the women made armaments in factories across the country. In Mississauga, Small Arms Limited, just west of the village of Long Branch, turned out No.4 rifles and Sten guns.
On Saturday, September 28, 2013, you can meet some of the women war workers from Small Arms, along with re-enactors dressed as members of the 1st
Canadian
Parachute Battalion and US paratroopers, and see some of the hardware used to bring about victory, including an M4 Sherman tank.
