Stock Butt Plate

Has anyone replaced the metal plate with a rubber type, if so, which one?

What would be the purpose? You may look into those slip on recoil pads, as they wouldn't do any damage to the stock if you want something like that.

I don't know why someone would want to do that. You sure as heck do not need it because of recoil. Maybe to make the stock a bit longer?

My old childhood friend, Greg's dad added about an inch of canopy from a crashed German plane to his issued carbine Greg's dad, Bud, was a big guy for that time period at over 6 foot. Adding length I can see but definitely not for recoil.
