Soooo I'm moving into a new house. There is an area which is about 3 foot 6 wide by 10 feet long which I could convert into a hidden room with locked and concealed door, which could not only have my safe's in it but also would mean I could have probably 20 rifles on the walls. Walls will have a steel plate covered with drywall for security and fire retardance. Problem is I have no idea what the best method of wall hanging is. I'd want them secured - I live in an earthquake zone so they can't fall if jiggled about, but the aesthetics are important too. Given the width of the room some will have to be at an angle. What have folks here used in the past for this? any picture shared would be a) cool to look at and b) mioght inspire me. Off the shelf (pun intended) solutions are easiest as I have very limited time.

No-one has rifles on their walls and can recommend a decent method of display?

My brother has racks he made using 2 boards floor to ceiling and putting pegs in the appropriate places to hang the rifles so they are horizontal.

I assume one through the trigger guard and one under the stock?

Yes, you have to space them accordingly.

I just use peg board with off the counter 2.5" straight pegs that are covered with plastic hose to cushion the rifle. You could get longer metal pegs and bend them to wrap around for your inclined wall and/or for added earthquake safety.

Very nice display. Probably economical as well. I have seen some new security type pegs that have a lower leg to hold them in place, or use cloth covered elastic bands for that purpose.Slat panels you see used in retail displays would work well also but they would be a bit harder to locate,and pay for. The price of slat panels could be offset id you used them in place of sheet rock.

I have a similar room, here my earlier display case, and some others. I like this as a principle and I would go with this type of system again, all be it with some refinements.

One of mine is on a similar principle Tbone, although I use plastic covered cable through the guards.

What you can't see behind the lounge, is the base, which is a double row book case.
Bolts are removed to meet FAR requirements.
