    The aircraft in the first and second pictures are C46 "Commando" aircraft. Those are C47 "Dakota" is in the third picture. The two pictures of gliders a "Horsa" in the first (Landing), and a "Waco" in the latter (landed).

    Ah, yes. C-46 Commando, the "plumber's nightmare." They had a problem with fuel leakage collecting in the wing root and exploding. Lots of losses flying the "hump" in Burma.
