    Question U.c.f.?

Hello to all. I am new to this online forum stuff and I have question that brought me here. I have recently purchased a no4 mark1 10 shot magazine. It is marked with U.C.F. I wonder if anyone knows what it stands for? The nearest I have been able to find is U.C.M (upper Canadianicon militia)?

I thank you for your time.

I THINK that it is a code for a Savage subcontractor who made the magazine (or follower plate - I have 5 stamped with UCF)

I suspect MS may well be correct. I have several too. Really don't know what it stands for but if it's a Savage sub-contractor I just wonder (pure speculation of course) if the 'CF' in 'UCF' could be 'Chicopee Falls'? I'm too lazy to check but I assume you've already consulted the standard tomes on the matter?

I really like the idea that it was a contractor for Savage. The .303 Britishicon that I have is a savage lend and lease. So that would more or less go together. I have checked on line and with a few old timers at a local gun show who were very knowledgable but I will continue.
    Thanks for the input.
Maybe it's just me but there is something very right about a rifle made by an American in the hands of a Canadianicon to fight alongside of a British soldier to protect the free world.
