P14 from Springfield Sporters in the late 1980's

I really enjoy looking at the pictures on this forum. I thought it is about time I should share some pictures of my own. I read Rick the Librarianicon’s post on photography first then took these pictures. (Thanks Rick). These are pictures of a P14 Enfield that I bought from Springfield Sporters in the late 1980’s. There was an ad in the Shotgun News. I paid $80.00 for it and had it shipped to a friend that held an FFL at the time. It is a Winchester Serial no. W4XXX. It has the circled IW mark and PAT 14 on the buttstock. Ahead of the trigger guard there is a G stamp. The brass unit disc is missing as well as the volley sights. There is a star on the extractor. The bolt does not match and it has BM in a mark that looks like a flaming bomb or possibly a crown on a circle on the handle. It bears many battle scars and I like to think it was used in the trenches in The Great War but I really don’t know. I like the fact that no one has tried to tried to "fix it up" or improve it. I’ve taken it to the range a few times and I’m sure I’ll get it out there again.
