Mystery marking on Martin Muscat buttstock.

While giving the Muscat a final going over, I found this marking on the butstock wrist. If theres an off the wall marking, Im going to find it. No clue as to what it is, just thought Id put it out there and see if it looked familiar to anyone

I must confess, I have looked at this photo for quite some times, but cannot see any trace of a deliberate marking. There is just no edge sharpness visible at all. I think those are just random pressure indentations from being banged around/stored or whatever.

It looks a bit like the citadel stamp, well scrubbed and overmarked.
