BMG 1919A6 set up for the tripod
I am naming him Mr Ed
You reckon he was "drafted" into service and would that make him a Draft Horse?![]()
At least he's camouflaged
I believe the barrel shroud gives it away but there are a couple of reasons that shroud is on there.

"We're surrounded, that simplifies our problem!"
The BMG M1919A6 has an extended front to the barrel jacket to support the bipod while the M1919A4 has a shorter barrel jacket.

Yes, that's the flash hider. Standard equipment actually. The bipod goes on the jacket, I'm pretty sure of that, and the flash hider will interchange with the barrel bearing and plug. On common issue with all our guns although only the ariborne used it with their A6's. The one above is wearing a barrel bearing and plug only I think, that's why the question...Also the buttstock was issued but we only used them with the Ferret scout cars.
I haven't talked about this stuff for years...
