Scope mount for a No.8 rifle

I was unimpressed with the "no gunsmithing" mounts available so I made this from 1/4" T-6 aluminum and used the ejector, backsight and the two extra target sight holes original to the receiver. Although it sits a bit higher than I'd prefer, it's not too high and has remained solid after several months of use so I'm calling it a success. Not sure if I should paint it black or leave it alone.

With the scope that high, have you thought about refitting the rear ladder sight with a new made pin? I reckon the battle apperature could still be used with your mount and would retain the clean lines.

Oh, and I'd go with the black finish too.

You can take it to a shop that deals with trophies, they can oxidize it any colour you like.

BP, good idea but the bottom of the mount obscures half of the aperture.

I'm sure that it'd be lower and more 'pro' if you'd just used the FULTON mount. And it's already black too!

I've got a friend in the upstate of SC who installed a Fulton Picatinny base and IOR Valdada scope on his No.8Mk.1. He shoots that .22 at distances most people wouldn't try with a high power rifle and is quite successful at hitting the targets too!

Peter, or anyone, is there a site or page I can go to to check out the Fulton mount as mentioned? Is it specifically for a No8? I have looked through their site and found nothing.
