    Lithgow 'parts' gun.

I've got a 1942 Lithgow SMLE and I noted the Australianicon section mentioned Lithgow SMLE's require a brass recoil plate. The woodset I am using on the rifle is a walnut set purchased from Numrich, I did not see any 'recoil plate' on the forend. Is this kosher to fire it without the recoil plate? If not, I would like to know where to get one and fit it on the forend. Thanks, I'm new to this forum.

It's just the coachwood stocks that require the recoil plates. No need for them with walnut furniture.
