    It's arrived!

    I'm excited....

My 1942 Inglis Bren has arrived after its long trip, complete with bren transit chest and original paperwork going back to the early 1950's.

It's sitting in garage and needs to be unpacked and a detail photo montage done. I'll post the pics when I get that finished...

When I was a young trooper back in the early 60's, I trained on first the Sten SMG and Bren Gun, before they switched us over to the Sterling SMG and FNC2.

I loved the old Bren and most of the guys I trained with preferred it over the FNC2, hating to see it retired....

I guess I'll have lots of questions for you Bren experts here once I start pawing over it.

    Regards,
    Doug

Looks very nice. Is it unaltered, a semi-auto conversion or deact?

    Being in Canadaicon....

It's a deact, but a very old job with one small weld. I'm told by previous owner that it's cock-n-click.

Haven't opened it yet, but maybe this weekend I'll have time ...

    Regards,
    Doug

I wasn't sure if you were licensed for prohibs. I imagine the list of prohib card carriers is getting smaller every year. If you need a fix, come on down here and you can have a go with the Inglis Mk.II and L4A3. The L4 stays dirty, lol!! You didn't hear that Peter!

I have a D/A Inglis MkIM Brengun in my collection. Also made in 1942. Yours looks to be original. A nice find indeed! Well done.

    Kind regards, Lester

I always used to savour the moment firing a Bren, and the Vickers of course. There's just something very reassuring about firing a Bren
