Picked up a '44 Remington Rand

Picked this one up this week, a 1944-produced Remington Rand. Looks to be a non-refurb. Bbl is Hi-Standard, mag is Little.

Sorry for the glare in the photos, there was a fresh coat of oil on the gun.

Nice clean old gun. About as good as we can get here. Very nice. It looks as if someone was going to have a go at deleting the Martial markings on the right side, but fainted before they could do any real damage.
    Regards, Jim

Would that be a mid 1944? Nice looking 1911

Yeah, someone had started electro pencil cancelling the word "united" but stopped there. It looks like it was bare metal there and was touched up with a spot treatment of cold blue. Its the only real fault on the gun, the rest is original finish so not worth reparkerizing.
