    Strange m14 magazine

I recently took the magazines out of a four pack that I bought sealed over twenty years ago, when I originally opened it I thought three of the mags were marked with a "W", and the fourth was unmarked. Today I rubbed some white chalk on the area and discovered it is indeed stamped very lightly with a "W", but it's sideways! Anyone seen one like this before? The sealed four pack was marked H&R dated 3/63.

You seem to have four magazines for the M14icon rifle made by Westinghouse Electric for H&R Arms Co. I have never seen another sideways stamped marking but all is possible during set-up of the die.

The reason I even looked for the stamp was a post I found through google by Bill Ricca, that basically said all USGI mags are marked. When I found that post that's when I broke out the chalk.......thanks Bill.
