Trigger guard sling swivel for No4T

I have finally accuired a sling swivel for my No4t and was wondering are there any special instructions for fitting it. I only wish to fit one for looks as I use the Springfield sling withoutany promblems.

So is it a matter nof simply unscrewing the standard screw and replacing it or is there more to it as I don't want to screw up the bedding or anything else as the rifle shoots really well.

Just install it. Should be a direct replacement. If any fitting is needed, obviously the screw should be altered, not the rifle.

Just be sure that it is the right thread. SMLE and No.4 ones will not interchange.

Apart from the thread, do not SMLE swivels have a longer shank to clear the double sling lugs on the earlier pattern trigger guards?

Yes, but don't rely on that, some No.4 ones are like that too.
