    342-FH-3A-42718-64898AC tom quinn 46th fs 21st fg As the North American P-51 "Little Angel" of the 46th Fighter Squadron was taking off from No 2 Field for a fighter escort mission over Tokyo, Japanicon, the engine "conked out"; when the plane hit the ground, the pilot pulled up the landing gear to prevent over-shooting the runway. 12 April 1945, Iwo Jima, Bonin Islands
