Help IDing marking disc.

Am currently bidding on a 1914 BSA that ended up in Australian service. It has a marked unit disc that goes like this..
Top of disc,
T
R.E.
Left of disc is 309, to the right, AAC
Of course I have no way of knowing if this is original to the rifle, but one can hope. Would be interested in hearing what these markings might be. Can find no reference to them.

T could indicate a Territorial unit of the Royal Engineers (RE) of which I believe there were several in the 1914 time frame.

AAC = Army Air Corps?
AAC = Australian Ambulance Corps?

Highly unlikely. The Army Air Corps, as we know it, did not form until, the late 1950s and so would have been armed with the No.4 or SLR at that time.

The first thing ( actually the only thing ) that popped up for AAC was Army Air Corp, but as Beerhunter pointed out, that didn't come about till later.
These are all possibilities, and thanks for the input thus far. The interesting thing is that neither of these markings are struck out, it's like this rifle served in two units at the same time!
