    Lee Enfield Slings

    Hi;
    Why were the Lee Enfield web slings made in different lengths?
    Several that i have installed on my rifles are all approx. 46" long.
    I just purchased one by mail order, which is marked MECo. 1944 with broad arrow,
    but is 52" in length. Why the different length? Thanks for your help... Phil.

    The 46" sling is for the rifle, the 52" sling is for the bren LMG

    The longer Bren sling was also very popular with snipers using the No.4Mk.1T.

    I don`t have a Bren Gun or a No.4Mk.1 T nor am I likely to, given the prices nowadays!
    So I thought to resell or trade the sling for a 46" one, but thanks to Brian`s comment
    I`ll keep it and use it on one of my Britishicon No.4`s when I go to the range. Thanks for
    the help.... Phil.
