Arado, Nice job! I like the stock. I built an L1A1 on a DSA receiver (Aussie type). I had a kit from Sarco that I bought when they first arrived (80's or 90's?). The U.S. parts count was a big pain and it took about 8 mos to get the receiver from DSA. Fitting the barrel and headspacing (finding the locking shoulder of the correct dimension) took some time. I also have an early Century Arms L1a1 that has the "Made in Canadaicon" markings. As far as I know it is an Imbel receiver and is every bit as nice as the DSA. Is your state you restricted to 5 round mags? Salt Flat

the mag restriction in my state "Ohio" is 32 rounds center fire. any more and you have a machine gun. now to find my L2A1. I know I built one. It has a 30 round mag. I put a 5 round in the Fal pictured, to lower profile.

My only question would be the butt with the brass disk. I don't remember those in Canadianicon service. Might be wrong, but other than that looks good.

    My Century Rebuild

Had to watch my American parts count very closely, and probably put more money into this than I should have, but I am happy with the way it turned out. Attachment 42138

    Question

Is that carrying handle correct? Looks blackish instead of brown. Nice rifle.

The carry handle is not wood. it is phenolic plastic and black. The rest of the furniture is wood.

This posses an interesting question.... one that surprises me... IF this is original.

1.) just to confirm the butt and the brass disk are original?

2.) dose the butt have a serial number stamped on it? of not,

3.) is there an original serial number on the lower, or was that a separate part to the butt when you got it?

I ask because the but disk is from a New Zealand Air Force Squadron SQN 41, rack number 073.

As far as I know the Air Force didn't have any FN C1 Rifles. they were all Australianicon L1A1 rifles.

    Interesting.

The Carrying handle is a New Zealand pattern plastic carrying handle.

Top Left: Australian Plastic Carrying Handles
Top Right: New Zealand Pattern Plastic Carrying Handles
Bottom Left: Canadianicon Plastic Carrying Handles
    Center Bottom: Britishicon

Thank you for the input. I had/ have a mix of parts. The lower receiver was made by Infield. I built 5 inch pattern fals.I bought rifle part kits . There were no C1a1 kits then or now. I used what I had to complete build. I may have the original Canadianicon butt stock. I remember getting it with the wood parts. i'll check internet pictures then look at my stocks. most are black plastic.
