    Want to know will this rifle be a good buy? How rare are they? Also want to know who defaced the fire proof mark? russian or somewhere else.

    sorry. the page is gone coz believe they put it on hold for me. Receiver is byf45 and barrel is 44. come with sling mark L&F is in good shape. every thing complete but is deface.

    Why would you spend $795.00 on a destroyed useless firearm? It doesn't matter now if its rare or not its destroyed!!! That site is a horror show.

    u must be looking at the wrong one.Bet the one u are looking is dot44, the one I am looking is byf45 is live firearm

    Sounds like what you were describing was a Russianicon Capture K98icon. They sell in the US for $300-$400.

    But it doesn't look like it. seems the stock and the blueing is in org condition + all matching ser# but the fire proof mark has been peened. So have no idea who did that

    Hard to tell anything now. All I see is dewatted east-german rework of what used to be a dot44 semi-kriegsmodell.

    It's a post-war refurb or assembly. Czechicon or Frenchicon IMHO. The stock has been sanded and on a real one would be much rougher. The trigger guard should not be numbered and the floorplate should not be milled. The receiver has been cleaned up before blueing - on a real KM the machining marks would be much more evident. Interesting rifle, but overpriced by about $500 in this man's opinion.
