Italian arsenal rebuild and conversion to .308 in 1971. Barrel would have been new then. The condition of the backsight bodes ill for general state of care. Properly cared for, the Italian rebuilds are very good, and actually more desirable for competition shooting than originals in 30-06.

yes they did a wonderful job with them . baretta manufactured parts and even a magazine fed version of the grand similar to the M14 for a brief time
The back sight looks to be caked in grease...dry grease. The whole rifle looks to have come from storage. Almost unused.

There are several types floating around, maybe 4 or 5 different logo styles. Yours seems to be the most common. Very neat!
