    Lebel Berthier carbine bayonet question

I just got a nice Lebel bayonet for my 1892 carbine. The problem is there doesn't seem to be a bayonet stud and I can't attach it. I've read about that some Lebels have had bayonet studs removed, or it maybe the carbine never had one. Any suggestions?

A Lebel bayonet is a spike bayonet. A Berthier bayonet is a blade bayonet. The Berthier carbine takes the blade bayonet. The Berthier rifle takes the Lebel bayonet.

An 1890 Berthier carbine does not have a bayonet lug. The 1892's on do.

That's how the cellar gets filled up kanterj! Now you have to find a rifle to fit onto the bayonet!

You probably need the 1892 Berthier bayonet.

Bayonet attaching front end should resemble this one:

Attaching stud lock is centered under the barrel. (This is an 1892 with Post-WWI upgrades.)
