    Scoped 91/30 mount keeps loosening.

Guy at the range yesterday was trying to resight his scope. The only reason I noticed was it was a modern scope mounted on the receiver top.
Long story short, he said he had it tapped and mounted by a gunsmith "didn't ask who" everything was fine until around the 10th round and the mount came loose. So, back to the same guy this time he used red loctite "permanent ".
Same thing happened yesterday the guy was at a loss. Only thing I could think of was the receiver is expanding at a different rate then the mount screws or the threads are to big.
    Any other ideaers fellas.?

teflon tape around the screws might help to fix that prob.

What screws are loosening? The 91/30s PU are infamous for the thumb screw loosening. I learned that lesson the hard way during a VS match when, after 3 misses at 600 yards after being dead on at 300, I looked up to see the mount flopping back and forth as I rolled to load a new round.

The screws on the mount are loosening,it's a modern weaver rail mounted on Top. Looked like the guy got one screw into the flat on the reciever "hex" the other on the flat of the rear sight base "ladder removed". I didn't get a real good look the owner was a bit standoffish but that's my fault, first thing out of my mouth was "why'd you do that" LOL...

Well, that was my thought as soon as I read that it was a Weaver rail......
