    91/30 very unusual stock markings.

When i bought this rifle I didn't notice the crosses until I got it home and cleaned off the cosmo. They have been sanded as the whole stock has and shellacked over prior to to being put into war reserve. The stock is an early Tula while the action is 1924 Izzy.
My best guess is Vladimir heated the tip of his bayonet and burned his tally into the stock during one of Mother Russiaicon's conflicts.

Sounds legit to me. I have a Carcano that has deep tally marks on the stock. Went to 13 and stopped!

Sure looks like a tally mark to me. Any chance that stock came off a sniper rifle? Probably no way to know.
