    #78 telescopic scope??

    i have heard of a 42 and a 53 artillery scopes but 78??

    Britishicon SMLET Model Rifle Scope

    # 78 Mark I from the 1960's

    search that on evilbay.........looks similar to a no 32 but different dials. i guess a machine gun scope or something. i have no idea.... let the experts chime in.....

    The 'post-WW2 experts' will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's the sight off a Charlie G (Carl Gustav). Nicely made but of little value at present.....maybe in a few more years' time?

    Yep, hit the nail on the head....... For the trusty and well liked Charlie G 84mm anti tank gun. One of the few things that we still keep as war stockpiles. The only drawback to them was that the missile had the trajectory of a piano - and the aerodynamics too! But when it hit...................
