13-185 Garand Picture of the Day- Korea First Cavalry

A U.S. First Cavalry Division tank takes on the appearance of a Times Square subway train at the rush hour as GI's pile aboard, on March 14, 1951 for a ride across the Hongchon River near the former Red supply base of Hongchon.

What was it the Germans said? A yard driven is a yard gained.

Might have been a hard choice for me walk vs ride. I would have to overcome my fear of falling off and being run over. Not many hand holds.

Good to know as I have not been there nor done that. The perch just looks precarious. I do know that walking for endless miles even without 75 lbs of gear gets old very quickley. Might have jumped aboard hand holds or no.

I see all those Carbines and always wonder WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Oh, easier to carry? How nice. Wait until the first attack, tell me how nice and light your carbine is.
