    No 5 Mk 1 .......

..... from Aimsurplus or a 1943 Lithgowicon and a Turk Mauser for $300 locally?? Both decent and shootable as is.

I'm leaning toward the Lithy! Not a fan of the No 5 and my Dad has one if I want to play. And I have a soft spot for Turked guns. My first milsurp was (is) a Turkishicon converted '88 Commission rifle for $49!

Sounds to me like you already know which way to go Since you do have access to a No 5 and you like Turkishicon rifles I would say go the route you are thinking. No 5's do come up regularly, the prices are a bit steep, but they can still be found later.
