    New type 99?

I just picked this up for 190.00 at a yard sale. bore looks good, no major cracks or problems with stock, what do you all think? Also it doesn't look like it had a mum, no grind marks that i can see.

Numbers match on the bolt, extractor and bayo lug. the screws are staked.

Nice to see some new photos on here. Rifle looks good, seems like a fair price. Might be missing the dust cover and monopod but could be a transitional one that never had either.

The mum was probably expertly removed to leave a nice receiver post war. I've seen them like that before. It it was lightly stamped to begin with, not that hard to do.

Grimm, Yes I agree with Aragorn-- the Mum was removed and the receiver ring nicely cleaned up. Looks good and kudos on the matching numbers and staked screws. Price seems like a good bargain. Salt Flat
