    My first P14...

Bought this today at a local swap meet. It didn't really 'talk to me', but when I heard the sellers price (NZD$350 - USD$270), I listened and promptly bought it. It wasn't really the example I was looking for (NZicon marked and still in original configuration), but it will do me for now as a shooter.

Bad things:- the stock is pretty dark, battered about and dinged up, but I can live with that.
Good things:- apart from having a trip to Weedon at some stage in its life, its in all matching original condition. 1917 dated barrel.

The seller reckoned it was a 'solid 9 out of 10 bore'. Hmm... I'd say closer to 7, but still pretty good. I tried taking some fancy down the tube photos but this is the best I could get. The photo makes the bore look worse than it really is.

I drove from the swap meet to the Rifle Club and put it through its paces. It shot 3-4MoA, which I was happy with. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me - maybe next time...

Nice find! If wanted new wood is fairly easy to find or you could give it some tender care and clean it up. Or keep it as is and just shoot it. Decent examples in the US start around $500 in my part of the country and go up from there.

Fernleaf: Looks like a good one. Original and a good shooter! I wouldn't fool with the stock- looks right. My own Eddystone shoots about as well as yours in spite of the worst appearing bore in my collection.
