There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
That would be very early in the war -- the Naktong was one of the boundaries of the Pusan perimeter where the ROKs and the small US forces hung on until reinforcements could be brought in. If you compare Korea to Florida, that would be a small circle around Miami. The North Koreans were attacking constantly in an attempt to drive us into the sea, and they eventually achieved a breakthrough across the Naktong. The newly arrived Marines were rushed up there to seal it and push them back. They did.
