    Four companies made launchers.

    Knapp Monarch Company......[KMCO-M8/Launcher/CAL-30

    Reliance Machine & Tool...........R (in a star) Grenade M-8
    .................................................. .................Launcher

Sun Ray Photo........................SR (in a diamond)

    U.S. Cabinet & Bed..................U.S.iconC B

The first made for testing was in July 1943 and production was on and off at the different companies through August 1945.

Don G. has been in contact with me and has an M8 that is very slightly shorter than the others. Is there anyone who has an idea about this? Jim, I suggested he contact you.

Well, being in California, I had to get rid of mine years ago. But I have an old Ordanace Catalog ORD 9 SNL B-39
It has pictures and a measurement scale in it.

    In the margins I wrote:

    U.S. CARBINE GRENADE LAUNCHER M8
    RELIANCE MACHINE & TOOL CO.
    Measurements: OL: 15.2CM 6" 12 oz.

Years ago I carefully took out the staples and made a few copies. I found some of those last night, but now I can't find the original. I guess I really put it away for safe keeping. "8 1/2" X 5 1/2" 28 pages with nomenclature and list of parts.

This is seven of the pages from old photos.

I find it amazing what you guys have tucked away. Who would have thought to keep an old pam like that.

I copied mine back then and send them, one for each member at the time, to the club. Same with the serial number cards.
