Shooter, you know that you can bring up a threaded format kinda like the old board dont you?

Up at the top of the dialog boxes you can select "threaded" from the display modes pulldown.
That will give you a threaded box above and the individual post below.

I can't see any way of replying without quoting the previous msg., unless you do highlight and delete each time

Oh, yes, you can also look for the little icon at the bottom right of each message and use the "Quick Reply" function. If you decide you can't live without the fulle editor, hit the "Go Advanced" button once the Quick Editor loads.
