    need some help

    can anyone direct me to a good web site on the Enfields? i just got a mint one on a trade and i dont know anything about them,.... originality etc

    On left side of receiver it says No4MK1 ROF (F) 10/43 which looks engraved not stamped.
    On the muzzle it's stamped 303"2.2" under that it's has something my ok eyes can't make out( maybe a proof mark) then ???TONS or TUNS

    One more thing, the serial number is faint but legible. Is there a way to look up the number that can tell me more about it ?

    A Number 4 Mark 1 rifle made at the Royal Ordnance Factory, Fazakerly in October of 1943. The marks near the muzzle are Britishicon commercial proof. .303 caliber, 2.2" nominal cartridge case length and 18 tons p.s.i. pressure. The serial number won't give any clues to the rifle's history.
