Complete Bolt For Savage No.4 Mk1*

I stopped off at the local gun store, and found a very decent Savage No.4 Mk1*. The bore appears pristine, and the gun overall is quite nice.......about 80%. It was priced at only $125, so I couldn't pass it up.
The only hitch is that the bolt is missing. After checking around in a few places, I found that Sarco has complete No.4 Mk1 bolts for $79.95. I was ready to order one, but suddenly realized that my new rifle is a Mk1*, not a Mk1.
As many No.4s as I have had, (and thoroughly enjoyed shooting) it never occurred to me to see if a bolt from a Mk1 will work in a Mk1*, or vice versa.
So what's the consensus here? Will a Mk1 bolt work in my Mk1* or not?

Before buying the rifle or the bolt - oops sorry its too late isnt it - have a read of one of Peter Laidler's old articles on fitting bolts.

An Enfield bolt must be FITTED not 'just slid into the rifle'

Many thanks for the referral, Alan. Once I obtain a replacement bolt, I plan on having a gunsmith fit it, using a copy of PL's article as a guide. Your message, however doesn't answer my question. Can I use a Mk1 bolt on a Mk1* rifle?

1. Good for you but ensure that it is one used to working on Lee-Enfields. There is bit more to it than just checking the head space. (Which seems to be an obsession on your side of the pond.)

2. Yes. But you may want to get a Stevens-Savage marked bolt, just for cosmetic sake.
